Catholic Christians under attack

First of all, let me tell you that I do not mind people having their own beliefs about God or the Divine. I used to have different ideas *but no faith*, so I can really sympathise with them. They are in the dark eye of the storm, and they are looking for light, only they are being cheated by the evil one, as I have been and I still am tempted.

What I absolutely detest though is people messing with other people's beliefs. Those "other people" are usually not muslim (remember the Rushdie affair? or that poor cartoonist sketching the face of the prophet? The whole of Europe was under the terror of the millions of excited muslim immigrants). Also, those "others" are not jewish, nor hindu, nor some yogi gurus. Nobody tries to change other people the way some people mess with Christian people. For example, can you imagine what would happen if there ever was a movie like the Da Vinci Code, about the alleged secrets of judaism or of some hindu sect?

I am disgusted by an article I read today, titled: In Support of Heretical Catholic Grandmothers.

It begins: "Yesterday I went to Philadelphia for the celebration of the ordination of two women to deacon and priest by the Roman Catholic Womenpriests. What a fabulous occasion it was! Of course, it wasn’t held in a Catholic Church. In fact, the women were excommunicated the moment of their ordinations. These brave women, both of whom have graduate theology degrees and have been working in religious education and pastoral care of the sick and poor for decades, were ordained in a Reconstructionist synagogue in the same city where the first Episcopal female priests were ordained, contrary to church law at the time, in 1974".
The group hosting the website and blog claims as its intend to promote understanding between people of Christian, Jewish and Muslim faith. I am all in favor of understanding.

But how does one promote understanding when she actively attacks other people's religion, is a question that needs to be answered.

It seems to me that what these groups do insted is create and promote religious syncretism, i.e.a melting pot where people will lose their God given individuality, their faith, their identity and their souls, and become accessories to a new universal order of mindless mass consumers, soldiers of the obscure new world order.

It is our duty as Christians to love, but it is also our duty to preserve and grow in our faith. the bottom line is: stay away!
