Living Spaces to Encourage Creativity

Preparing a creative and well-balanced living environment for your child is a great way to stimulate your children’s growth and encourage learning. Seeing as how young kids have the ability to learn from day one, it’s a great idea to furnish your child’s room not only with a comfortable kids bed or crib but also with a fun arrangement of dιcor and accessories that will foster creativity as they grow older.

When you begin to arrange the room, keep in mind that this area of your home will be multifunctional in that your children will come here for bed, playtime, reading, and working on arts and crafts. With that being said, it’s essential to incorporate a designated spot for each of these activities in order to create an organized and clutter-free environment as your kids develop their learning skills on a daily basis.
In terms of furniture, it’s best to position items associated with sleeping, playing, and studying in separate areas of the room or alongside opposite walls in order to define the versatile functions of the space.

While the bedroom furniture serves as a place for kids to relax and unwind, a multipurpose student desk made from sustainable materials is great for working on school projects or an arts and crafts activity. In addition to furniture placement, consider ways to encourage an organized space through eco-friendly storage containers that are equipped with drawers or shelves for all of your children’s accessories. Since kids are always involved in a number of different activities, the amount of clutter from toys, books, and school supplies can really add up which is why incorporating a storage unit can be a lifesaver.

When it comes to choosing dιcor to help warm the room and encourage a creative environment, consider adding colorful wall decals that include simple, modern prints and vibrant colors. Including an art station in the playroom complete with crayons, stickers, markers, and art supplies will give your child an opportunity to create their own collection of dιcor to display on an easel or on the refrigerator.

Children’s dιcor manufacturer Wall Candy Arts features a collection of removable chalkboard wall decals that are perfect for children to add their own sense of style to the room. Obtaining a unique and creative sense of style for your children’s room can also be attained with reclaimed furniture found at thrift stores or local flea markets. This can also serve as a fun DIY art project for kids to work on while learning about recycling furniture and dιcor.

What does God have to do with tidying up?

D asked me tonight :
"Why does God care about us tidying up our bedroom?"
I hadn't mentioned anything about God wanting my girls to clean up their bedroom, not anything that I can recall at least. But there she was, asking me. Here are some thoughts.
Well, first, He loves beauty. He created all this beauty around us. But first of all He put an order to Chaos. So He MUST like beauty and order. Being clean and orderly, keeping also our thoughts and feelings in order, is a way of being godly ourselves.

School days

D's school results came in. She's actually got a couple of marks worse than last semester. I was quite disappointed, but I tried to react in a peaceful, collected way.
What worries me most is that she doesn't seem to be interested in her classes. She is mostly preoccupied with making friends and being accepted by the new environment. Which, the truth is does make sense. Adapting was not going to be easy and we knew it. I just hoped it would be a little easier for her.
What is apparent from her marks is that she loves doing maths. She is actually ahead of her class. She even asked me to find a book with extra exercises for her. I am so pleased with her interest in maths, because neither me or her father are very keen in maths and science. Sure C loves reading about space and nature, but he is not a maths person. And I am mostly familiar with Litterature and the Arts. So none of us has been much help there.
On the other hand, I realise that Language lessons were going to be hard on her, anyway. She is still struggling with reading, spelling and Greek grammar, let alone working on litterature and reading an entire book as requested.
She is finding it difficult to learn History for example or any lesson that involves reading and learning an entire passage. I try to encourage her and be there for her, to show her that I understand she finds it difficult, and that she is not alone.
F, on the other hand, loves litterature and the arts. She does find Greek grammar quite complicated, but she manages the reading part. And she does OK with maths and science, although she doesn't quite like it.
I think that this may have to do with my talking to her and reading to her when she was little. As soon as I got married, I stopped working, and I didn't go back to work until she was 3. I did homeschool her the entire time, unlike D who went to kindergarten at the tender age of 2.
What can I say? Obviously I'll keep trying, and avoid blaming myself...
