As I was writing about Heather in my previous post, and visiting pages referencing the support rallying up for her and her family, I stumbled upon The Blogger's Choice Awards.
Among the categories there is a Best Religion Blog one, where I found The Ain't Christian blog, The English Atheist and The Jesus Christ Arcade.
I was quietly impressed by the contrast of the two: On the one side, trust towards life, the acceptance, the belief, the total abandonment to God's hands. With Faith so true and pure as in a child's smile to her father. And on the other side the denial, the anger those posts exuded.
It's not as if people believing in different faith systems are evil. All people have, all along human History believed in all sorts of religions, and some of them have come up with some impressive results in human values, artistic creation and scientific progress.
I hate it when people are being dogmatic about how everyone should burn in hell if they do not follow their faith.
Philip says to Nathaniel: "Come and see". What happened in later years through the violent expansion of Christianity over the pagan nations, had nothing to do with Christ and everything to do with ego and power struggles.
The truth I have experienced in my life is that WE do not choose Christ, but that it is Christ who, in different stages of our lives, and under different circumstances, makes the first step and the second, and the third, and calls out our name. THEN we get to decide which way we'll go, and what we'll do with our lives.
On top of that, I came across this post over at Terri's, and it made so much sense!..Writes Terri about the faulse prophets that are increasingly flooding the bookshelves, the internet, the T.V. screens. And she hits the nail right on the spot, so I am not going to say anything more. Just visit her and let me know (and her) what you think.

The link didn't work for me, but I think I read her post about the "secret" the other day. Is that what you were reading too? It was funny, when we were in dallas matt's sister had ordered the secret dvd and insisted matt watch it.
We went to a healing school on Saturday while there and it was awesome, I saw God's hand on so many people and it was encouraging and life changing. I know that Isabelle will be completely restored.
Do you mean it is worth all the fuss? Because I tend to think it is all part of the new age thing...Oh and the link works now! Thank you!

The Secret is new age. It has nothing to do with God or Jesus.
I don't know what Annie participated in but I would guess it would have been based on scripture not on something new age. One of the gals in my Bible study who was actually a deacon and very, very strong in her walk with Jesus suffered a brain injury. She was in a coma and then paralyzed for three years (couldn't sit up for more than 45 minutes and even that would wear her out for days). She finally went to a healer that prayed over her in the name of Jesus along with a minister and was healed. Amazing.
I need to check out the religion blogs. To me, the word Atheist is dogmatic so I'll be interested in reading what that person has to say.
