Week end in the mountains

Where the river begins its way, wild, strong, pure.

A niche of Faith was built in 762 A.D. in the name of Our Lady.

The monastery's gardens worked with labor and love...

... grow vines under the gaze of the mountains.

Down below the river flows.

First blooms, a halo of beauty and promise.

High on the mountains, a lake,

and the last of the winter snow.

Warm and welcoming rest.

Candied bitter orange will be served by the fire.

The works of women's hands,

works of love and patience are put in good use.

Outside, after dusk settles upon the village,

the old...

and the young...

...shall give hands...

...and join in the circle of dance.

Soon the bakery will fill the air with the fragrance of village life for the stranger...

High up on the mountains,

dusk leaves and the day dawns

but the time has stood still for awhile.
